Deployment of additional apps

In the standard deployment you will only have access to the Mobile WMS app from Tasklet.

However, it is possible to deploy additional apps from the Google Playstore to your mobile devices.

The deployment can be done in two ways, see below:

Central Deployment from MobiControl

The additional app deployment is pushed out from MobiControl to all devices at once.

This way we can also add a shortcut to the new app on the lockdown screen. see the example below what that could look like.

The advantage is that no manual action is needed in order to install apps on a device and that future added devices will be configured in the same way without any user interaction needed.

Installation from Google Playstore

We do a configuration change that allows the user on the device to add an additional play store account on the device.

Using this account, they can then access the Play Store and install what ever apps they want and need on their scanners.

The drawback is that you will need to perform the same actions on each of your scanner.

We recommend option one as it is an easier way to deploy additional app to many devices at once and you are sure to get the same configuration on each device.
