I cannot enroll my scanner into MobiControl

Problem

I cannot enroll my scanner into MobiControl, when i enter my enrollment ID i get an error message.


Solution

For the scanner to enroll into MobiControl in needs to be able to contact Tasklet Factory's MobiControl server, however sometimes firewall will block this communication from happening, and the correct firewall port must be opened.

  1.  Firewall port 5494 must be opened for outbound connections for MobiControl to work. Tasklet Factory's Mobicontrol Server has the IP address: 40.68.196.181 and hostname ds1.mobi.taskletfactory.com or 40.114.220.164 ds1.mob2.taskletfactory.com depending on which you are enrolling your scanners on.
  2. If you are having troubles enrolling devices, and perhaps the firewall has not been opened yet, you can try to enroll the scanners by using a mobile phone by sharing the phones internet connection and connecting the scanner to the phone as this connection will not have any firewall.
