Cloud Print - Private Tenant, do I need one?
When it comes to our Cloud Print solution, you have the option to either use it through our Common print tenant or through a private tenant.
In this article, we will help clarify when there is a need for a private print tenant.
Does the label you intend to use not conform to any of our Standard label template sizes?
See this article for the sizes we have premade: Item Label
If none of these matches the size of labels you intend to use then you need a private tenant to create a new label template that matches that size.
Do you need to make significant changes to label designs, such as changing the barcode type or changing the way data is presented on the label?
Then you need to have access to the template designer and therefore you need a private tenant.
This video shows an example of the design changes that can be made: Cloud Print: How to modify label-template and add data
The above are the only reasons to have a private tenant, all other customizations can be done with simple extensions.
If you can not answer yes to either of those then we cannot make a private tenant for you or your customer.
Do you need to change the data on the label or add data to the extra fields on the label template?
That can be done without the need for a private tenant see this article for how: How-to: Add data to label-template (Cloud Print)
Do you need to add a step or change one of the steps when printing a label?
That can be done as described in this article: How-to: Modify steps on a label-template (Cloud Print)
The data collected can be added to the extra fields following the steps in this article: How-to: Add data to label-template (Cloud Print)
