Problem

My device is not connected to MobiControl even though it is on the WIFI network

Solution

  1. Unlock the device
    1. See I want to unlock a device

  2. Make sure that it has Internet access, e.g can browse a web page
  3. Open the "MobiControl"-app
    1. Go to the "Device Configuration" page (can be found in the upper right menu)
  4. "Agent Status" should be "Connected" - since you are reading this article it might be "Disconnected"

  5. Click on the "Agent Status" label - this will trigger the device to connect
    1. The Agent Status should change to "Connecting" or "Connected" 
    2. If "Connected": All is good

  6. If it is stuck "connecting", please verify these network prerequisites:
    1. Firewall port 5494 must be opened for outbound connections
    2. Mobicontrol Server has the IP address 40.68.196.181 and hostname ds1.mobi.taskletfactory.com and ds1.mob2.taskletfactory.com + 40.114.220.164 port 5494.
