Solution

  1. Unlock the device in order to check a few things, see: 
    1. See I want to unlock a device

  2. Make sure that it has Internet access, e.g can browse a web page
  3. Open the "MobiControl"-app called MobiControl
    1. Go to the "Device Configuration" page (can be found in the upper right menu)

  4. Check the "Agent Status, it " should say be "Connected" - but as since you are reading this article it might say be "Disconnected"

  5. Click on the "Agent Status" label , as - this will trigger the device to connect
    1. The Agent Status should change
    from Disconnected
    1. to
    Connected or ConnectingIf it gets the Connected Status, all
    1. "Connecting" or "Connected" 
    2. If "Connected": All is good

  6. If it is stuck "connecting", then check please verify these network prerequisites for connecting:
    1. Firewall port 5494 must be opened for outbound connections
    for MobiControl to work. The
    1. Mobicontrol Server has the IP address 40.68.196.181 and hostname ds1.mobi.taskletfactory.com and ds1.mob2.taskletfactory.com + 40.114.220.164 port 5494.
