Problem
My device is not connected to MobiControl even though it is on the WIFI network
Solution
- Unlock the device in order to check a few things, see: I want to unlock a device
- Make sure that it has Internet access, e.g can browse a web page
- Open the app called MobiControl
- Go to the Device Configuration page (can be found in the upper right menu)
- Check the Agent Status, it should say Connected - but as you are reading this article it might say Disconnected
- Click on the Agent Status label, as this will trigger the device to connect
- The Agent Status should change from Disconnected to Connected or Connecting
- If it gets the Connected Status, all is good
- If it is stuck connecting, then check these network prerequisites for connecting
- Firewall port 5494 must be opened for outbound connections for MobiControl to work. The Mobicontrol Server has the IP address 40.68.196.181 and hostname ds1.mobi.taskletfactory.com and ds1.mob2.taskletfactory.com + 40.114.220.164 port 5494.
