Problem

My device is not connected connecting to MobiControl even though it is on the WIFI networkpowered on and connected to a network.

Solution

  1. Unlock the device in order to check a few things, seeI want to unlock a device
  2. Make sure that it the device has Internet internet access, e.g for example, it can browse a web page.
  3. Open the app called MobiControl
  4. Go to the Device Configuration page (can be found in the upper right menu)

  7. Check the Agent Status, it should say Connected - but as . It should be 'Connected', but since you are reading this article, it might say DisconnectedClick be 'Disconnected'.

  8. If the status is 'Disconnected', tap once on the Agent Status

    label, as this will trigger the device to connect
  9. The Agent Status should change from Disconnected to Connected or Connecting
  10. If it gets the Connected Status, all is good
  11. If it is stuck connecting, then check these network prerequisites for connecting
  12. Firewall port 5494 must be opened for outbound connections for MobiControl to work. The Mobicontrol Server has the IP address 40.68.196.181 and hostname ds1.mobi.taskletfactory.com and ds1.mob2.taskletfactory.com + 40.114.220.164 port 5494.

    . The status should change to 'Connected', which means the device has successfully reconnected.
