Lifecycle Policy

Lifecycle Policy

Description

This article outlines the major version lifecycle policy for Mobile WMS for Business Central.

In practice, this applies only to On-Prem installations, as Business Central Online is updated automatically every six months.

What the active lifecycle means✅

  • New features and bug fixes are released

  • Product documentation is maintained

What it means to be out of the lifecycle ❌

  • Features and bug fixes are no longer released

  • Our documentation is maintained for the latest release only, and some described features may not be available in older versions

  • The old releases can still be installed on old BC versions

Policy rules

Microsoft releases a major version every 6 months, in April and October. See Version numbers in Business Central.

Microsoft End Date policy

  • 6 months full support plus 12 months only bug fixes, for a total of 18 months

Tasklet End Date policy

  • We extend Microsoft End Date by 6 months for a total of 2 years support for each major version

Consequences for On-Prem customers

You must upgrade to a new major version every two years. Otherwise, you cannot install the new Mobile WMS releases.
