Transfer Orders

Applies to Mobile WMS setup: Receive / “Show transfer”


Transfer orders are used to move items from one warehouse to another.

The process flow is as follows:

  1. Create the transfer order in Dynamics AX/365FO
    1. Optional make a picklist registration from the transfer order
  2. Pick and ship the items from the sending warehouse
  3. Receive the items in the receiving warehouse

The Mobile WMS application supports both the sending (picking) and receiving processes of a transfer order.

This section describes the “3. Receive the items in the receiving warehouse”-flow above and assumes flows (1) and (2) has been carried out already.

After posting the receive order from the mobile device the transfer order will have the status <Received>.


In Mobile WMS

Prerequisites to receive a transfer order is that the order has been shipped before it will be visible on the scanner device. The transfer status must be 'Shipped' before it is available on the scanner device. When you use Mobile WMS and do the picking from the scanner device, then Mobile WMS picks the materials and sets the status to 'Shipped'. 

          

 Receiving a transfer order. As you can see the flow is very much similar to a purchase order receiving flow.
