The Two Servers

. Each folder has its own set of configuration files.

In our standard setup, there are always three folders: New Devices, Production, and Test (see Usage of MobiControl Folders), but you might have more folders depending on your setup.

The most common device movement is between the Test and Production folders. Moving a device to a folder will install that folder's specific configuration on the device being moved.


How to move a device

To move a device on Mob2 and Mobi - MobiControl servers, you need to:

  1. Expand the folder structure

  2. Locate the device(s) you want to move and select them by clicking the dot to the left of the device name. You can select multiple devices to move all in one go.
    In this example, the device is already in the Production folder.

  3. Left-click and hold on

    In this example, the device is being moved from Production to Test.
