Set up:

Bluetooth / Internal

The datawedge only has support for direct bluetooth connection from the Scan handle. Even though there is USB connection this is not supported by the data wedge.

Connect it:

  1. if already connected, remove the bluetooth connection from the connected bluetooth devices in Android
  2. Set the scannertype in start.cfg to "bluetooth" then start the MobileWMS. The MobileWMS will open the parring utility app on the Zebra Scanner (pre-installed). This will connect the scanner to the android device.
NB! if the device does not connect when scanning the barcode the use the factory reset barcode in the bottom of this page.
  3. Make sure in the ScanParams in the data wedge that the Code Id Type is set to Aim (like always)

Must be updated:

Using 123Scan utility from zebra to upgrade the device else it might fail when connecting to the parring utility.

Using USB:

The scanner has a cradle but we currently don't have support for this. We have tried the other ScanEngine that uses the EMDK but that did not work out of the box. Jesper from Zebra talks well about using the cradle because it extends the range to 70 meter instead of approx. 8 meter.
Jesper ways that the data wedge is not supported but it should work through the SNAPI.
