Cloud Print Incident 11.03.2025
Reported By: Dan Andersen, COO
Incident Description
The cloud print service experienced partial downtime between 06:15 UTC and 09:15 UTC due to a process error during the transition between DNS hosting providers for our top-level domain, taskletfactory.com.
Root Cause Analysis
The DNS provider transition required an email-based verification step. However, the verification email was mistakenly filtered into an employee’s spam folder, preventing timely action. As a result, our domain was temporarily suspended.
Additionally, our IT supplier, who assisted with the transition, was unfamiliar with the verification process, which contributed to the resolution delay.
Actions Taken
At 07:45 UTC, upon detecting the issue with Cloud Printing, we contacted our IT supplier for assistance.
The IT supplier escalated the matter to the DNS hosting company, which informed us about the pending verification.
Once identified, we retrieved the verification email and completed the required steps to lift the domain suspension.
Resolution and Recovery
Due to DNS record propagation times (default 60 minutes or longer in some cases), service restoration varied across customers, with some experiencing a faster resolution than others.
Additional Information
