Settings in General

Sort Order Pick

This setting determines the sort order of pick order lines displayed on mobile devices.
The available options are:

  • Worksheet: The ‘Sorting Method’ field on Warehouse Pick controls the sorting with these options:

    • Item

    • Document

    • Shelf or Bin

    • Due Date

    • Ship-To

    • Bin Ranking

    • Action Type

  • Item: Sorts alphabetically by Item No.

  • Bin: Sorts alphabetically by Bin Code.

Sort Order Put-away

This setting determines the sort order of put-away order lines displayed on mobile devices.
It provides the same sorting options as ‘Sort Order Pick’.

Use Base Unit of Measure

This setting determines if all mobile device quantity operations should use the item's base unit of measure instead of the document's original unit of measure.

When disabled:

  • In planned functions the mobile devices display quantity and unit code in the original document's unit of measure.

  • For planned functions quantity input must be entered using the unit of measure specified on the original Business Central document.

  • For unplanned functions the user will be prompted for unit of measure selection when the item has multiple units available.

When enabled:

  • In planned functions the mobile devices display quantity and unit code in the item's base unit of measure.

  • Unplanned functions automatically use the base unit of measure without prompting for unit selection.

  • Quantity input must always be entered in the base unit of measure.

Enable Pack & Ship

This field activates the Pack & Ship feature, which provides advanced packing and shipping capabilities for warehouse operations, including package management, shipping integration, and packing station workflows.

Enable Tote Picking

When enabled, you can pick multiple orders for multiple customers simultaneously by scanning boxes to associate them with the corresponding orders/customers.
Refer to Tote - Picking and Shipping for details about this feature.

Tote per

This setting is applicable when Tote Picking is enabled.
It determines how orders are associated with the Tote (e.g. box, railcar, pallet).
The available options are:

  • Destination No. - Tote per customer

  • Source No. - Tote per order

  • Whse. Document No. - Tote per shipment

Skip collection of Delivery Note on Receive

By default, a step to collect the Delivery Note No. is displayed when posting a Receive order.
Enable this setting to skip this collection step.

Use Mobile TimeZone when Posting

This setting controls how the current Work Date, Posting Date, and Time are determined.

When disabled:

  • Date and time are obtained from the service tier or cloud hosting platform.

When enabled:

  • Date and time are read from the request from the mobile device.

To ensure processed documents are posted with the correct date and time, you may need to enable this setting.
Example: When the warehouse worker is in one time zone and the system is hosted in another, you would want to use the device time.

Post breakbulk lines automatically

This setting determines whether breakbulk lines are hidden and posted automatically with Warehouse Activities.

When disabled:

  • Breakbulk lines are displayed on the mobile device.

  • Breakbulk lines must be posted manually.

When enabled:

  • Breakbulk lines are hidden from the mobile device.

  • Breakbulk lines are posted automatically.

Important Note: Automatic posting of breakbulk lines for items with Lot or Serial Tracking is not supported unless Item Tracking is predefined on the Warehouse Activity Lines.
To resolve tracking issues: Disable this setting so breakbulk Warehouse Activity Lines will display on the mobile device, allowing tracking information to be collected before posting.

Allow Blank Variant Code

This setting determines whether ‘blank’ variant codes can be selected during data collection steps.

When to enable: If items with variant codes can exist in inventory with blank variant codes, enable this setting.

When disabled:

  • Blank variant code is not displayed as an option.

  • Users cannot select blank variant code.

When Enabled:

  • Blank variant code is displayed as an option.

  • Users can select blank variant code.

Important Note: This setting only affects the selection of new values during data entry. Existing inventory with blank variant codes will always appear in functions like Locate Item, regardless of this setting.

Package No. implementation

Visible only when "Use tracking by package number" feature is enabled in BC Feature Management.

Overview: Microsoft's Package No. provides a third tracking dimension that can be customized for various purposes. Mobile WMS includes a standard implementation that is disabled by default.

Options:

  • None/Customization - Package Numbers in Mobile WMS are disabled or implemented as custom solution.

  • Standard Mobile WMS - Enable out-of-the-box implementation (requires Android App 1.8.0+)

Count

Settings in Count

Settings in Count

Sort Order Count

This setting determines the sort order of count order lines displayed on mobile devices.
The available options are:

  • Worksheet: Lines are sorted in the sequence defined when the order was created. This is typically used to sort lines according to Bin Ranking.

  • Item: Sorts alphabetically by Item No.

  • Bin: Sorts alphabetically by Bin Code.

Unplanned Count Warning

This setting controls whether mobile users receive warnings during unplanned counting when quantity discrepancies exceed tolerance levels.

When disabled:

  • No warnings are displayed regardless of quantity differences.

  • Users can enter any counted quantity without system alerts.

  • Tolerance settings are ignored.

When enabled:

  • The system uses the higher of two tolerance values:

    • Percentage-based tolerance (Count Warning Tolerance %)

    • Minimum absolute tolerance (Count Warning Min. Tolerance)

  • Users receive warnings when counted quantities fall outside these tolerances.

  • Users can either force the count or reconsider their entry.

Count Warning Tolerance %

Sets the percentage tolerance for quantity discrepancies during unplanned counting. Works with Count Warning Min. Tolerance to determine when to warn users.

Example:

  • Expected quantity: 100 units

  • Warning percentage: 10%

  • Tolerance range: 90-110 units

  • If user counts 85 or 115 units → Warning triggered

  • If user counts 95-105 units → No warning

Count Warning Min. Tolerance

Sets the minimum absolute tolerance for quantity discrepancies during unplanned counting. Use this to prevent nuisance warnings on low-quantity items where small numerical differences represent large percentages.

How it works: The system uses whichever tolerance is greater - percentage-based or minimum absolute.

Example:

  • Expected quantity: 2 units

  • Percentage tolerance: 10% (= 0.2 units)

  • Minimum tolerance: 5 units

  • User counts: 6 units

Result: System uses 5 units tolerance (higher than 0.2), creating range of -3 to 7 units. Count of 6 units → No warning.

Without minimum tolerance: Range would be 1.8-2.2 units, triggering excessive warnings.

Skip Whse. Unpl. Count Item Journal Post

This field determines whether the system should skip posting to the Item Journal when performing unplanned counts, posting only to the Warehouse Journal instead.

When disabled:

  • Both Item Journal and Warehouse Journal entries are posted.

  • Standard Business Central posting flow is followed.

  • G/L accounts are automatically updated.

When enabled:

  • Only Warehouse Journal entries are posted during unplanned counting.

  • Item Journal posting is skipped entirely.

  • Warehouse entries are created to/from the adjustment bin.

  • G/L accounts are not automatically updated. "Calculate Whse. Adjustment" from an Item Journal must run periodically.

Benefits of enabling:

  • Faster processing with reduced system load.

  • Allows batch G/L updates during off-peak hours.

Important Constraints:

  • Only applies to "Directed Put-away and Pick" locations - Has no effect on other location types.

  • Requires adjustment bin - Location must have an adjustment bin configured.

  • Periodic G/L reconciliation mandatory - Financial records won't be current until "Calculate Whse. Adjustment" is run.

Move

Settings in Move

Settings in Move

Sort Order Movement

This setting determines the sort order of movement order lines displayed on mobile devices.
The available options are:

  • Worksheet: Lines are sorted in the sequence defined when the order was created. This is typically used to sort lines according to Bin Ranking.

  • Item: Sorts alphabetically by Item No.

  • Bin: Sorts alphabetically by Bin Code.

Block negative adjustment if Reservation exists

This field determines whether negative adjustments should be blocked if reservation entries exist, providing stricter control than the standard Business Central behavior.

When disabled:

  • Shows a warning when reservation entries exist during negative adjustments.

  • Allows the user to proceed despite the warning.

When enabled:

  • Blocks negative adjustments entirely if reservation entries exist.

  • Prevents the adjustment from being processed.

  • Shows an error message instead of allowing the operation.

Show available quantity on Unplanned Move

This field controls whether to display available quantity information and restructure the mobile workflow for unplanned move operations.

When enabled:

  • Information Step Added: Creates an initial information step that displays available quantities to move from the selected bin.

  • Interface Reorganization: Moves the "From Bin" field from the step collection to the header on the mobile device.

  • Enhanced Visibility: Shows a detailed table of available quantities by unit of measure and variant.

When disabled:

  • Standard unplanned move workflow without additional information.

  • "From Bin" remains in the normal step sequence.
