This article outlines the major version lifecycle policies for Mobile WMS for Business Central (Cloud and On-Prem)
Every 6-month Microsoft will release a "major" version of Business Central, also known as "Spring" (March) and "Fall" (October).
This lifecycle policies are based on major versions. See more: Version numbers in Business Central
What it means to be in an active lifecycle ✔️
- Both new features and bug fixes are released
- Documentation is maintained
What it means to be out of lifecycle ❌
- No more features or bug fixes are released
- Support hours that was otherwise free, may be now be billed
- Documentation may no longer fully match your experience
Lifecycle policy rules
Cloud installed from AppSource
When Mobile WMS is installed from AppSource updates are available for the most recent major BC version from production servers (current Microsoft 6-month April/Oct. cycle).
- Updates may be available for an additional 0-6 months for the “outdated” major version following the start of a new major cycle (April/Oct.)
- However, this is not guaranteed as breaking changes in standard Business Central may prevent us from uploading versions for earlier majors to AppSource for validation
On-prem
When Mobile WMS is installed On-prem updates are available at least two years after the initial “major” version release.
This follows the Microsoft "6+12 months" maintenance cycle for a major release + additional 6-months support for Mobile WMS.
- Some older Mobile WMS "major" versions have had their maintenance cycle extended beyond this. Please refer to the table and chart below
