Overview

The Honeywell Granit 1980i is a cabled scanner, which connects through a USB or a COM port.

1. Prerequisites

From version 1.5.3 Mobile WMS supports Honeywell Granit 1980i External scanners (referred to as the external device) along with the internal scanner.

2. Connecting the scanner

As this is a cabled scanner, connect it through the cable supplied with the scanner.
In the image below it is connected to a COM port on the Thor truck terminal.

Make sure it is enabled in the Honeywell settings app.

Each of the Serial Scanner COM ports can be set up individually:

There has been circumstances where the wedge was not set up and the scanner did not work.

2.1. Configuration

The Aim prefix needs to be set up on the external device (a barcode must be scanned)

For the Mobile WMS application to work properly we need to set it up to prefix all barcodes with the AIM.

The AIM is three characters added to the barcode. E.g. ]C0 for a Code 128 barcode, ]D1 for a datamatrix and ]D2 for a GS1 datamatrix.
Here is a more detailed description: https://support.honeywellaidc.com/s/article/What-is-the-AIM-identifier-of-a-barcode

Scan this barcode to set up the prefix on the external scanner:

2.3 Extra configurations

For further configurations for the handset, see the manual. E.g. how the handset should behave when placed in the Cradle. (Section: "Scan While in Base Cradle").
