Report Print enables Business Central reports to be printed from a mobile device
Step 1: Enabling printers
Not all printers are expected to be relevant for warehouse users when printing from Mobile WMS.
You will need to select which printers to enable for Report Print.
Go to "Mobile Report Print Setup" and click "Printers"
Use the drop-down menu in the Printer Name to add a printer. If this list is empty, you will need to set up a Printer Connector and add printers first - see Prerequisites.
Location Filter (optional)
The printer will only be available when handling Orders for locations within this filter.
Packing Station Filter (optional)
The printer will only be available when handling Ordes in Pack & Ship for Packing Stations within this filter. Make sure to allow for a blank Packing Station, if the printer should still be available for processes other than Pack & Ship.
Step 2: Enable reports
To enable printing of a report for a warehouse employee using a mobile device, you will need to add the report to the list of Mobile Reports. You can open the list from the Mobile Report Print Setup window
Go to "Mobile Report Print Setup" and click "Reports"
Click "Insert all Mobile WMS Reports"
This will insert all reports included in Mobile WMS and all their built-in layouts. For each report, the default layout is enabled
Enable / Disable label sizes
Determine which of the label sizes are supported by the printers and disable the unused
Step 3 (optional): Limit available printers for a report
For each report (report layout) you can assign which printers should be available by clicking "Printers". This will ensure that only valid printers are suggested when printing from the mobile device (e.g. printers with a specific label size when printing a specific label layout).
All Mobile Printers will be available if no printer(s) is assigned a given mobile report.
Go to "Mobile Report Print Setup" / "Reports" and click "Printers"
Add the appropriate printer(s)
The Location Filter and Packing Station Filter are from the Mobile Printer setup and cannot be edited here (it is to be specified in the Mobile Printers window instead). They are displayed here as guidance to ensure printers were added to support all desired locations and packing stations.
Step 4 (optional): Printing customized layouts or additional reports from the mobile device
(Optional) If you need a label size not provided in Mobile WMS, you can create your own layout by copying one of the existing layouts and adjust it to your needs. Link
The new layout can then be added and enabled in the list of Mobile Reports.
(Optional) Add additional reports
Any Report in Business Central can be added to the list by specifying the Report ID and selecting a requestpage handler. The requestpage handlers will send parameters to the report to ensure it can be executed with no UI (i.e. from a mobile device). You will therefore often need to add a custom requestpage handler to print other reports than those provided by Mobile WMS. For more information: Link
Step 5 (optional): Print on mobile actions: "Print Shipment on Post"
If enabled the posted shipment will print automatically when posting from a mobile device.
Go to "Mobile Report Print Setup"
Enable "Print Shipment on Post"
Any posting from a mobile device resulting in a posted shipment (Warehouse Posted Shipment / Sales Shipment / Purchase Return Shipment / Transfer Shipment) will now automatically print the posted document.
The printers used for the Print Shipment on Post feature will be printers specified in the standard BC "Printer Selections" setup. All printers can be selected and they are not required to be configured as Mobile Printers.
Go to "Printer Selections"
Setup the appropriate printer for all the shipment reports (for either all or selected users)
If the shipment reports have been replaced using Report Selections or Report Substitutions you will need to consider this during the set up of Printer Selections.
