Problem
Customer is working with Variants and need the MobileWMS to read the Variant Bar Code
Case:
Customer is working with different Materials, Colors & Sizes for the same item no. in Business Central - Instead of creating seperate item no., they use Variants
Exampel:
Base item no. 100 - T-shirt could be sold in different Colors and Sizes
Colors: White, Blue & Red
Sizes: Small, Medium & Large
100, T-shirt Variant: Color, White / Size, Medium = Variant Code: VT-W-M
For this specific Variant Code, the Cross Reference tabel is used to identify the item no.:
Exampel on identifier/Barcode:
'100-VT-W-M' / '1234567891011'
Solution
1: Setting up variant on Items in Business Central using the 'Variant Code' & 'Cross Reference'-table
Variant Code: Item Card / Actions / Item / Variants
Create 'Variant code' for each 'Item Variants' in table
Cross Reference: Item Card / Related / Item / Cross Reference
Add 'Cross Reference No.' for each 'Variant Code' in table
Scanning a Bar Code using AI:
AI (91): Item Variant Barcode
- Example: (91)47002023, for T-Shirt White (Variant Code: VT - WHITE)

2: If using MobileWMS menu - Item Cross Reference from the device
Select 'Item' and add 'Cross Reference No.'
- Note: Variant Code, must be created in Business Central
