Available in Mobile WMS for Dynamics AX/365FO version 3.13

Excerpt
To make it east Mobile WMS has some groupings out of the box groups. These In these groupings we have made related menus to the context of the group. What available. But what if they don't fit your business processes?

Fortunately it is easy to create new groupings and then you can add all the relevant menus you require.

From AX/D365FO we send reference data out to the mobile device when a user is logging in. This is called "GetReferenceData". In these reference data we can activate a menu, but at the same time you need to specify the menu on the mobile device, so we have a match between the reference data and the application configuration.

The requirement from Mobile WMS is that the menu must be stated in the application configuration. We have made it easy for you to setup the groupings and add your new menus. When you make changes from AX/D365FO you can update your application configuration directly. The only missing step is to update the device with application configuration, which has to be done manually.

  1. Make changes to menus from AX/D365FO client
  2. Export changes to your application configuration file placed locally
    1. a tweak file is created
  3. Update MobiControl with your application configuration file

Path: Mobile WMS/Setup/Menu/Groups

E.g. create a new group called "MyNewGroup".

Once finalized we just need to export to new setup and add it it to the mobile device.

The file is a tweak file, so it just needs to be added. Read more about tweaks here: Tweak file for Application.cfg

Once the user has logged in again, the new menus is loaded you are ready to utilize the new grouping.
