Lifecycle policy rules
Cloud installed from AppSource
When Mobile WMS is installed from AppSource updates are available for the most recent major BC version from production servers (current Microsoft 6-month April/Oct. cycle).
- Updates may be available for an additional 0-6 months for the “outdated” major version following the start of a new major cycle (April/Oct.)
- However, this is not guaranteed as breaking changes in standard Business Central may prevent us from uploading versions for earlier majors to AppSource for validation
On-prem
When Mobile WMS is installed On-prem updates are available at least two years after the initial “major” version release.
This follows the Microsoft "6+12 months" maintenance cycle for a major release + additional 6-months support for Mobile WMS.
- Some older Mobile WMS "major" versions have had their maintenance cycle extended beyond this. Please refer to the table and chart below

Policy rules
MS rule
- 6 months of full support and 12 months with only bug fixes, for a total 18 months of support
Mobile WMS rule
- Extend MS end date by 6 months for a total of 2 years of support
Consequences
BC Cloud
- A supported version of Mobile WMS is always available (our two years end date is longer than needed, as cloud production servers get a new major version every 6 months)
