Description

It is useful to view an image of the item to handle, so Mobile can display images.

These functions can display images

• Locate Item 
  • Show Image (Full view)
    
    
• Order Lines
  • Show Image (Full view)

Requirements

• Minimum mobile app version 1.3.0
• Minimum NAV 2013

Keep image size down

• Images are cached by the app to reduced bandwidth but large images will take longer to download. Keep image size down.
  
  

Overview

Step 1 - Set "Max Message Size" for Web Service

On the servier tier administration, SOAP tab.

You must set this property to the highest possible size of image. 5120 = 5 megabyte.

Warning: Failing to increase this value, will result in images not being stored in NAV.

Step 2 - Import images in Items

Import Picture on the relevant Items.

Step 3 - Configure the Mobile App to show Images for desired functions

Ask Tasklet perform this step for you. See Raise a Service Desk Ticket

Modify all Planned pages to use to use the "WithImages" listes.

• Example: "OrderLinesWithImages" is used instead of "OrderLines"

Step 3 - Import NAV objects

The following two objects will be create

• Codeunit 6181391 - MOB WMS Media
• Codeunit 50011- RunMe Setup MOB WMS Media
  
  

1. Re-Compile the object (Important)
2. Run the object "RunMe Setup MOB WMS Media"
   1. This will set up Image support, by creating a Mobile Document Type called "GetMedia" pointing to Codeunit 6181391

Step 4 - Enable in NAV code

1. Create a Global variable for the Codeunit Called "MOBWMSMedia" of type "Codeunit" and subtype "MOB WMS Media"
2. Insert the following snippet

Locate Item

There are two modifications to be made.

Modification 1

In Codeunit 6181382 - MOB WMS Lookup and function LookupLocateItem

1. Create a Global variable for the Codeunit Called "MOBWMSMedia" of type "Codeunit" and subtype "MOB WMS Media"
2. Insert the following snippet

1. Create a Global variable for the Codeunit Called "MOBWMSMedia" of type "Codeunit" and subtype "MOB WMS Media"
2. Insert the following snippet

1. Create a Global variable for the Codeunit Called "MOBWMSMedia" of type "Codeunit" and subtype "MOB WMS Media"
2. Insert the following snippet

Show Image

To show the image in Full Screen, you can enable the "Show Image" action.

Remove the comment tag surrounding the showImage action.

A technical description of how Images are requested from the back-end

Images on Order lines

Mobile Configuration Files application.cfg "listConfiguration" has imageElements to define when to display images. 

"imageElements" uses a value named "ItemImage".

Flow

1. When the Mobile Request Document Type "GetXXXOrderLines" is reponded to, an Image tag is included.
2. This is also named "ItemImage".
The value of the tag
3. The Mobile app requests document type "GetOrderLines"

1. 1. The reponse includes the "ItemImage" value for each line
   2. The value is a combination of Item No. and the date and time DateTime when the Item / Image was modified.
      This way, whenever an Item is modified, the App will know by the value changing and request the Image again, now receiving an updated image.
      
When the sourceID matches with the answer to the request, additional requests are made for the images needed. One request after the next. These will have the Document Type "GetMedia".

3. The Mobile app requests document type "GetMedia" for each image
   1. These requests are sent ad-hoc, one after the other
   2. The images will appear to the user, one by one

Mobile app requests images when

• The images has not yet been requested
• "ItemImage" value has changed = the image has changed in B
