Create License Plates
Available in Mobile WMS for Dynamics AX2012 R3/365FO
When you need to scan a license plate number you need a label. Typical you either have a roll of labels with preprinted license plate numbers or you have none.
When you want to print new license plate labels, you can choose print labels either from the context menu or from the main menu.
The example below is from the context menu on a receive order. If the item is a license plate controlled item your selection of label designs is including the "Create License Plate" label design, marked in red below.
Mobile WMS Label Print
The Mobile WMS Label Print is an add-on to the Mobile WMS solution and requires extra license.
Once selected the label design, if you have more than 1 printer available for your print, you need to specify the printer first and finally the quantity.
What happens in D365FO?
Once the labels are successfully printed your license plate numbers are registered in D365FO at the same time.
The license plate numbers are not placed in a location. They are just registered and only inherits a location once a movement of goods using the license plate. When we e.g. use a newly created license plate to receive some goods on, the receipt location is going to be the default receipt location of the warehouse. See marked in red on image below.
