Introduction

This guide describes how to enroll an Android Plus scanner in MobiControl.

Factory Reset

To factory reset the device, follow the steps below.

ℹ️ For Zebra devices without an option to factory reset:

If you have a Zebra device without an option to factory reset, you can follow these steps instead:

1. Open the Stage Now app on the device.

2. Scan the barcode below. This will initiate the factory reset process.

If the barcode above does not start the factory reset process on your Zebra device, please find the appropriate barcode on Zebra’s website here and use that instead: https://supportcommunity.zebra.com/s/article/Performing-a-factory-reset?language=en_US

 

1. Open Settings.

2. Go to System.

3. Go to Reset options (it might be necessary to tap Advanced first).

4. Select Erase all data (factory reset) - it is important not to select the “enterprise reset” option.

5. Select Erase all data and confirm.

The device will now be factory reset and restarted. This process can take a few minutes.

When it has restarted, the device is ready for the next step.

Enroll the scanner in MobiControl

This section outlines how to enroll a scanner into the device management system MobiControl, which can be done on either a brand-new scanner that has not been used before or an “old” scanner that has been factory reset as described in the previous section.

Step 1

Once you start up the scanner, you are presented with the following screen:
         

1. Click on on the yellow button and start the setup of the device

2. Connect to your WIFI

3. Skip the email setup

4. Accept the Google services:

5. When the device is setup you will end up by seeing the desktop. 

Step 2

When the setup of the device is done, do the following: 

1. Go to the chrome browser

2. Paste the link provided by Tasklet

3. Mobicontrol will now be installed and you will see this message: "Install blocked" 
   
   

   1. Click on settings

   2. Enable "Unknown sources":  
      
      
      

      Open

      

4. After the installation click "open" and MobiControl will open
   
   
   

Step 3

After opening MobiControl this page will appear:

Click enroll and enter the enrollment id provided by Tasklet. 

Now your device is ready for use!
