Introduction

The "Tasklet Mobile WMS Pack & Ship - LogTrade Connector" is an optional app provided and maintained by Tasklet Factory.

If you have "Tasklet Mobile WMS Pack & Ship" and "LogTrade Connect" apps both installed, this "Connector App" will enable mobile device users to "prepare and print" Consignments in "Logtrade Connect" directly from the mobile devices.

Download and install "Pack & Ship – LogTrade Connector" App

The "Mobile WMS Pack & Ship – LogTrade Connector" must be downloaded directly from https://university.taskletfactory.com and currently cannot be installed from AppSource.

Depending on the environment setup, you need to download and install the correct app-file:

  • OnPremise
    • Use the file named "Tasklet Factory_Mobile WMS - Pack & Ship - LogTrade Connector_x.xx.xxx.xxx.app"
  • SaaS PTE
    • Use the file named "Tasklet Factory_Mobile WMS, Pack & Ship, LogTrade Connector(PTE)_x.xx.xxx.xxx.app

Set up the "Pack & Ship – LogTrade" in Business Central

Setting up the master data for the core "Pack & Ship" extension is described in detail the "Pack & Ship – Partner Guide".
In addition, these following master data are created automatically during installation of "Pack & Ship – LogTrade Connector". If you need to recreate these additional master data, you can either do this manually or by reinstalling the "Pack & Ship – LogTrade Connector" App.

Mobile WMS Package Types

  • Data is synchronized on install from table "LTC Package Type" to "Mobile WMS Package Types"
  • Can be manually synchronized from page "Mobile WMS Package Types" at any time
  • Only packages types associated to "LogTrade" will be replaced (Shipping Provider ID = 'LOGTRADE')

Mobile WMS Package Setup

  • When Package Types is synchronized into the "Mobile WMS Package Types" they become available to be used in the Mobile WMS Package Setup
  • The Mobile WMS Package Setup determines which package types is available for each Shipping Agent
  • Only when a Package Type is associated to a Shipping Agent they will be available at the mobile device (see below)
  • Mobile WMS Package Setup must be created manually when new Packages Types have been synchronized

Mobile WMS Packing Stations (and printing)

  • No packing stations are automatically synchronized during install
  • Can be manually synchronized from page "Mobile WMS Packing Stations" at any time
  • If no packing stations are created/synchronized the LogTrade Print Queue associated to the default LogTrade user will be used
  • Packing Stations is only required,  if you wish to print to different printers connected to LogTrade using the Integrated Printing Service option. In this case, the selected packing station will be used to update the LogTrade Print Queue on the mobile user

Mobile Groups and Mobile Menu Options

  • No changes are needed to Mobile Group or Mobile Menu Option setup.

The connector changes and extends the behavior of existing menu options, but do not introduce new ones.

Functional changes

When synchronized Package Types are set up in "Mobile WMS Package Setup" (see above) they become available to be selected from the 'Packing' page at the mobile device:

Other existing Package Types are still available and can be used as before (including package types created for internal logistics or synchronized from other 3rd party connector apps). Only Package Types from the same Shipping Agent can be used for the same shipment.

When the Warehouse Shipment is posted a new "Consignment" is automatically created, prepared, and printed in the LogTrade Connect App when:

  • A Package Type associated to LogTrade is assigned to a License Plate in the Packing process
  • The Warehouse Shipment includes unhandled License Plates (still not transferred to LogTrade)

License Plate No. added to Packages on Consigment

When License Plates are transferred to Packages on the Consignment, the License Plate No. will be available for easy identification.

Error handling
Preparing and printing the Consignment may fail in LogTrade when i.e. rates for specific customers are missing. Generally, this is something to be solved in the LogTrade Connect setup.
Errors will prevent the Warehouse Shipment from being posted as well.

When setup issues have been solved, posting can be restarted from Mobile Device and a new Consignment is created or you must manually open the Consignment in Business Central and retry Prepare and Print.
