There are two different ways to connect to and authenticate against the APIs in Dynamics 365 Business Central.

  1. Basic authentication. Username/password login:
    • Cloud: Basic Auth. will be Removed with Business Central 2022 release wave 1 You should use AAD instead – see below
    • On-Prem: Basic Auth will remain an option for the time being


  1. Azure Active Directory (AAD) authentication. Company Email login
