Applies to Mobile WMS setup: Receive / “Show arrival”
The Mobile WMS application can be used to register the receipt of items using the arrival journal. This is typically used together with the <Item Arrival> menu in Dynamics AX/365FO seen below. Description of Mobile WMS flow can be seen in AX Receive Arrival Journals.
Figure 1: Creating arrival journal in Dynamics AX/365FO.
From this menu, the warehouse manager can create arrival journals based on the items that arrive in the warehouse (e.g. unloading from a truck to an inbound docking area). Arrival journals can be used to separate out the process of physically receiving goods and registering them in the system as a step up from doing it at purchase order document level. The work process is:
Select the vendor, packing slip and/or purchase orders to receive
Create an arrival journal by clicking the <Create lines> button
The arrival journals are available on the mobile device as receive orders and the journal lines are the receive order lines. When the receive order is posted from the mobile device the following happens:
The journal lines are updated / split to reflect the data entered on the mobile device
Outstanding quantities / lines are moved to another journal
The journal is posted
After posting on the mobile device, the purchase order lines will have transactions with the status <registered>. The warehouse manager must manually post the packing slip in Dynamics AX/365FO.
