Description
Allows the user to maintain the Item Unit of Measures using the mobile device. Potential Naming Confusion Please observe that Mobile WMS Item Dimension, should not be interpreted as standard BC Item Dimension. It refers and handles the Item Unit Of Measures details (including dimensions of these).
This menu item aids warehouse employees to add or correct the Item Unit of Measures when standing in front of the items in the warehouse.
Item Dimension menu item
- The feature is activated by selecting the "Item Dimension" menu item on the main menu.
Item Dimension flow
To add or edit an Item Unit of Measure, you first need to select the Unit of Measure (UoM) and the Item.
- Select the UoM from the pop-up list when selecting the triangle function
- Hint: use the keyboard and enter the first letters of the UoM to filter the list.
- Scan or enter the item number, item reference or GTIN
Alternatively, search and select the item using the online search function
After selecting the UoM and Item, next in order is to input or correct the "Quantity per unit of measure".
- Input the quantity per unit of measure (how many of the base unit of measure are contained in this Unit of the item).
Hint: If the Item Unit of Measure already exists and holds a quantity value, this value will be proposed and prefilled in the field.
Handling base UoM
Please observe that when selecting the base UoM in the first step of the wizard, the "quantity per unit of measure" is always "1".
Therefore, when selecting the base UoM, the enter "quantity per..." step is skipped.
After defining the quantity per unit of measure, the final next steps involves specifying the dimensions for the length, width, height and weight of the Item UoM, to finish the wizard and get the values returned to BC.
- Select a length, width, height and weight value by inputting the dimension values after physically measuring the Item UoM.
- Finish the wizard by confirming using the confirm button
Hint: Zero (0) values are supported if this needs to be addressed at a later stage and for now you only want to handle the quantity parts of the Item UoM in question.
After adding or changing the Item UoM, this can be inspected in BC.
