Lists - Designer

Available in Mobile WMS from version 3.13 for Dynamics AX/365FO

Is replaced by: Pages - Page Overview

Excerpt
On the mobile device the application.cfg specifies lists. These lists are used on the pages in Mobile WMS. Now you have the option to change the lists from D365SCM.

Path: Mobile WMS/Setup/Customizations/Lists

Functions available from the menu.

  • Import/Export - update your application.cfg.
  • Select Query - select a specific dataset for when you want to preview the list.
  • Fonts - create new font
  • New Version/Lock Version - when version is locked, you can make a new one or lock it.
  • Show List/Edit list - when version is locked, you can show the list, or edit when it is open.

Import/Export (Tweak file)

You can import the actual application.cfg from your device, to use that as a base for building new lists or making changes to existing ones.

After modifications you can export the selected lists to an application.cfg file of your choice. The selected lists will be added to the file. When you export, then a tweak file is created. This is a file that works together with the original application.cfg file on the mobile device. Read more about tweaks here: Tweak file for Application.cfg

The only remaining task is to update your mobile device with the file.

Version Control

We have version control on the lists, to ensure stability to your environments. Lists can only be modified when you create a new version of it. This enables roll back options, if something goes wrong on the mobile devices.

When you want to edit a list you click "New version".

This create a new version and opens the version for editing.

Edit List

When you have clicked "Edit list", then see the nodes of the list.

The list is built of rows and columns.

Building a new list can be helped by the "Copy node". If you have a node you from another list, you simply find it and copy it. The important part here is the sequence you make the copy/paste.

  • Select a list from the drop down list menu
  • Mark the node and copy this
  • Return to the list you are creating
  • Select the node onto where you want to paste the copied node

Another useful feature is the move nodes up or down. The instant feedback of the simulation of the list is helpful to arrange the list like wanted.

When finished click save and and exit the edit list mode to return to the list view.

Once finialized the list gets approved and locked.
