Display Override
Available from Version 3.5 of Mobile WMS for Dynamics AX/365FO
You have the power to override with ease the informations displayed on the device.
For example if you want to change Display Line 2 on the purchase order lines. Here is how it looks before the display override.
Standard display of the purchase order lines.
Display Override - Overview
Marked in red circles we see the item number. But we would like to have a bit more text to make it more logic that this is the item number we are seeing.
Navigate to Mobile WMS / Setup / Display Override and click new.
Setting up, that the display of purchase order lines should be overridden when displayed on a Mobile WMS scanning device.
From the dropdown list you select the Purchase order lines.
Display Override - Lines
Navigate to the next tab 'Lines' and create new line.
Setup of display lines override.
Here it is possible to append or replace the line.
In the example above we have 2 lines for DisplayLine4 and you can arrange the sequence by the moving up or down buttons.
In the expression field you have the possibilities to insert text before and after the value from the data you have referenced in the reference table and reference field or method. This is designated in the expression as [value] in the expression. It is possible to create your own expressions to be used here, but that will be covered in another topic.
[Value]
In this example we have shown it is possible to add labels and values and use of methods.
You can also use labels in case you need to have users with different languages on the mobile device.
Final Result After Display Override
The result of this setup is seen in the below figure:
The result of the display override setup modified from original receive order line, in two different languages.
On the left screenshot you can see the result on a user setup for English language.
On the right screenshot you can see the result when the user has Spanish language.
Please note that the label has automatically been translated whereas the plain text has not.
How cool is that?
